The Blahg

M&M (mandy and marissa) have been bugging me as of late to update our blog. I think Marissa mentioned in her last blog that her life is boreing. What? Try our life....in fact.....I am renaming it the Blahg.
So here it is.....the new Dennis and Susan Blahg.
I cant even think of anything to write.......give me a minute....ok?
Ok....just thought of something. Here is a picture of a water puddle that stands whenever it rains at my office. The drainage is kind of a problem here and sometimes water comes into the office. That make me so mad! That is the scout trailer in the background.

Duck Hunting with Mama Sue and Friends

Last winter I joined a waterfowl hunting club in Garwood Texas. Located west of Houston, it is in the middle of the Central Fly Zone and is a great location for geese as well. My interest was more in the ducks. We made several trips this year with friends, family and clients. It was a lot of fun, and I cant wait until next year. Along with the hunts in Garwood, we also visited Ryan's family farm in Hagansport Texas. His family has hunted a large slough in the area for years. Following are a few pictures of the good times.

First Update of "08"

Since the last time Mandy bugged me enough to actually update this blog, Susan and I have been places. That's right. Places. Besides the occasional trip to see Marissa and Ryan in College Station, and Mandy Sue and Matthew Too in Utah, we took a trip to the Cook Islands. We also, well I should say I also, got reacquainted with my love of duck hunting. Susan did go with me on the first hunt, but fell asleep in the blind, and started snoring. It was funny! So, she doesn't go out with me anymore, but she does go and hang out with the other non hunting women folk.

So, below are a few pictures from our adventures of the past several months.

This is the house I lived in while on my mission in 1981 - Titikaveka, Rarotonga.

Same house - The small branch of Titikaveka also met here on Sundays.

Myself and Lane Steinagel. Lane was my Zone Leader 25 years ago. He will be leaving in July to serve as Mission President of the Kieve Ukraine Mission.
This is the beach in front of the house in Titikaveka. I walked this beach everyday while I lived here. I remember there were always dogs walking on the beach in the morning.

A view of the ocean from our Rarotongan villa.

We visited the Avarua branch for Sacrament Service and met old friends. The faces just have not changed much in 25 years. Lane and I were asked to speak....in Maori!

Wow....Two hot mama's wearing their native head dress thingies. That is Jenne Steinagel and Susan. Someone was checking their e-mail.

This is on the island of Atiu in the village of Ngatiarua. We are in front of the house I lived in.

Sodding DFW Airport Runway 18L

I thought it might be interesting to post a few pictures of the DFW airport job my company recently completed. We were contracted to plant several acres of sod between 2 major runways at the airport. Because it was a major international runway, most of the work had to be done at night when they could shut the runway down for minimal econmic impact to the airport. So, for 5 nights, a crew of 7 men worked under the lights from 11pm to 6am. Here are a few pictures as they finished the project on the last morning. Notice the planes in the background as the runway had been re-opened at this point because they felt the crew was working far enough away from the runway so as to not interfere with saftey regulations.

Cute Pics of Sophie

Here are a few pics of Sophie. We love having her around. She is always keeping us on our toes. When she isn't sleeping she has tons of energy and loves to chew on everything!

A Silly Video Of Papa D

video

Since my parents are not as computer savy as they should be that asked that I help put this video on their blog. This was taken while we were in Nauvoo. My Dad was in a goofy mood and decided to put a plastic bag over his head and start dancing. The funny thing is he didn't know that I was taken a video of him at the time! I hope you guys enjoy it as much as Marissa and I do! We love the fact that our Dad knows how to have a good time. He is a kid at heart! Love you Dad!
